For the second release in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, even more tricks were added including the groundbreaking manuals, allowing players to do multiple combos in a row for even higher scores. This version also introduced a create a skater option and a trick customizer for special moves, allowing more customization for players. The career mode centers on completing objectives to make money which can be used to unlock different addons for the game. The Tony Hawk franchise started out strong, but this edition was the one that set it apart from other trick sports games.

Control Stick - Steer Skateboarder, brake, recenter gravity (while in mid-air), Navigate Menu Items
D Pad - Navigate Menu Items
A Button - Jump
B Button - Perform Tricks
Z Button - Tuck
Right C - Open Trick List (Training Mode Only)
Up C - Change Camera Angles
Down C - View from Rear of Skateboarder
R Button - Spin
START Button - Pause the game
